Terms of Sale
These terms apply when you buy a Folio license from this website.
Who you are buying from
Folio is made by an independent developer (“the Folio developer”, “we”, “us”). Orders are processed by Lemon Squeezy, LLC, which acts as the merchant of record: it is the seller of record for your payment, handles checkout, sales tax and VAT, and issues your receipt. We provide the software, the license and support.
What you are buying
A perpetual license to use Folio on Windows, paid once. There is no subscription, no renewal, and nothing stops working if you never pay again.
These promises are made on the pricing page, and they are made here too, on the terms stated there on the day you paid:
- The number of activations stated on the pricing page. Each Windows user account you activate Folio in uses one. The License Agreement explains exactly what uses one.
- Every future update for life, free, major versions included.
- Folio for macOS at no extra cost when it ships.
If this page and the pricing page ever disagree, the pricing page as it stood on the day you paid is the one that binds us.
Price
The price is in US dollars and is charged once. Taxes are calculated by the merchant of record at checkout and shown before you pay.
We may offer a launch price for a stated period. When we do, the page says when it ends and what the regular price is afterwards, and the checkout charges the price shown. The price you pay is the one on your receipt; a later lower price does not change what you paid.
What is not promised
No release date for anything in development. Folio for macOS and importing directly from a phone are described on this site as direction, not delivery. Neither has a date, and neither is what your payment is for. If either is the reason you want Folio, please wait.
No risk-free file operation. No such thing exists, and Folio does not claim one. What it offers is a written plan you approve, removal through the Windows Recycle Bin rather than deletion, verification of each change, and a refusal to act when it cannot make a change safely.
The catalog is not a backup. Keeping a real second copy of your photographs remains your responsibility.
System requirements
Folio runs on 64-bit Windows 11. It is built to run on 64-bit Windows 10 (version 1809 or later) too, but that has not been tested yet. On Windows 10 the installer may need to install Microsoft Edge WebView2, which requires an internet connection once. Activating your license requires an internet connection once.
Delivery
Delivery is electronic and immediate. Your license key and download link are sent to the email address you give at checkout, and appear on your order receipt. If they do not arrive, write to folioarchive@gmail.com and we will send them again.
Your license
Use of the application is governed by the License Agreement, which forms part of these terms.
Liability
Folio is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit, or for the loss or corruption of data. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your rights as a consumer.
Changes
These terms may change for future purchases. The version that applies to you is the one published on the day you paid. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, and disputes are for the courts of the Republic of Indonesia. If you buy as a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may use its courts.
